Early Language Arts (K-2)

Course Description:

Welcome to Early Language Arts at Gracious Me Academy, a vibrant and engaging course designed for students in grades K-2. This program is dedicated to building foundational literacy skills through a variety of interactive and enjoyable activities.

In our Early Language Arts course, students will:

• Develop Reading Skills: Learn to recognize and sound out letters, blend sounds to form words, and read simple sentences and stories with increasing fluency.
• Enhance Vocabulary: Build a rich vocabulary through read-alouds, word games, and thematic units that introduce new words and concepts.
• Strengthen Writing Abilities: Practice writing letters, words, and sentences, and create their own stories and illustrations to express their ideas.
• Explore Comprehension: Engage in activities that improve their understanding of stories, including identifying main ideas, characters, and settings through discussions and interactive exercises.
• Foster a Love for Reading: Develop a positive attitude towards reading by exploring a variety of books and genres that spark curiosity and imagination.

By the end of the course, students at Gracious Me Academy will have a solid foundation in reading and writing, enhanced their communication skills, and developed a lifelong love for literature. Our goal is to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment where every child feels inspired to explore the world of language and storytelling.
